POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position coordinates the activities of the Children’s Crossings Unit including the ongoing recruitment, training placement and payment of Traffic Wardens. Provides a consultancy service to Traffic Wardens in relation to all areas of complaints, case managing incidents and ensuring adherence to all policy, processes, procedures and legislative requirements. Assists the Executive Manager in the coordination and operations of the Children’s Crossings and Road Safety Committee (CC&RSC).

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work-related requirements in no more than three (3) pages:

Supervisory skills – Supervising subordinate staff to ensure a customer focussed professional service.
Negotiation and interpersonal skills – Triaging and dealing sensitively with complaints. Interacting effectively with customers.
Analytical and conceptual skills – Identifying issues and forecasting impacts. Identifying problems, rationalising and recommending solutions.

Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work-Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
