- Salary: $149,739 - $173,174 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
Multicultural NSW is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Director, Communications and Media.
In this role, you will lead strategic communications and media initiatives that support the agency’s priorities and promote the value of cultural diversity across NSW.
You will provide trusted advice to senior leaders, oversee media engagement and communication channels, and lead a team to delivering projects across a diverse portfolio.
Working collaboratively across government and with external stakeholders, you will help shape clear, engaging and culturally responsive communications in a unique and fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do:
As Associate Director Communications and Media, you will lead strategic communications and media across Multicultural NSW. You will develop and deliver communication strategies, manage media issues and opportunities, provide advice to executives and stakeholders, and lead a team supporting internal communications and language services marketing and communication.
What we’re looking for
You are a strategic communications professional with excellent stakeholder management skills and experience delivering high-impact communications in nuanced environments.
You are an excellent writer and communicator who can craft compelling stories, tailor messaging for diverse audiences and provide clear advice to senior leaders.
You thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities effectively and bring a proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach to your work
Requirement 1 – Strategic communications expertise
Extensive experience developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communications and media strategies including delivering effective engagement approaches for linguistically and culturally diverse audiences.
Requirement 2 – Stakeholder and executive engagement
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and provide strategic advice to senior executives and government stakeholders, including managing sensitive issues and competing priorities.
Requirement 3 – Leadership and team management
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing teams, including setting direction, managing performance, and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirement 4 – Communication capability and delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor information for diverse audiences and effectively support senior leaders to achieve organisational objectives.
