Neurodiverse Playhouse is a Yarraville therapy hub where kids get to be entirely themselves — loud, quiet, scripting, signing, AAC-ing, climbing the walls (sometimes literally). We're a neuroaffirming team that believes communication comes in countless forms, and every one of them is worth celebrating.
Our place is purpose-built for the kids who walk through the door. The indoor zones include sensory retreats, movement areas, messy-play setups, and calm spaces for regulation. Step outside and you'll find gardens, a sandpit, climbing gear, and open space where some of the best language moments happen mid-leap.
A Day in the Life
You'll be:
- Delivering individual speech pathology sessions tailored to each neurodivergent kid you work with
- Championing every mode of communication — spoken language, AAC (low and high tech), gestalt language processing, key word sign, scripting, the lot
- Jumping into our small group day therapy program with the OT, Exercise Physiologist, and Educator — collaboration is the whole point
- Using our indoor and outdoor spaces flexibly, because communication doesn't only happen at a desk
- Keeping families in the loop with reports, plans, and genuine conversations
- Contributing to a team culture that takes the work seriously, but never itself
Who We're Hoping to Hear From
- A qualified Speech Pathologist with current SPA membership (CPSP or working toward it)
- Someone who's energised by working with autistic, ADHD, AAC-using, gestalt-processing, and DLD kids
- A practitioner whose approach is neuroaffirming and presumes competence — no compliance-based or deficit-framed work here
- Someone who sees AAC as a first language, not a backup plan
- A team player who genuinely enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration
- Eligible for or holding a Victorian Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and First Aid/CPR
Extra Gold Stars For
- Training or experience in gestalt language processing / Natural Language Acquisition
- Hands-on AAC experience (PODD, Proloquo2Go, LAMP, TouchChat — any or all)
- Familiarity with Hanen, DIR/Floortime, or play-based frameworks
- Confidence with NDIS goal-writing and reporting
- A willingness to be silly in service of a great therapy moment
The Good Stuff

- A beautifully designed clinic with indoor and outdoor therapy spaces
- Supervision, mentoring, and a real PD budget
- Colleagues who'll have your back on the hard days and celebrate the wins on the good ones
- A workplace where neurodivergent staff are valued, supported, and welcomed
- Pay that reflects what you bring to the table
