Your day as an Executive Assistant

Your typical day-to-day work will include providing a range of executive, secretarial, and administrative support services across a range of complex issues to support the Deputy Secretary and Executive’s achievement of the Group’s strategic and operational objectives.

Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

You will be joining our Procurement Reform and Banking Group and will be working within the Office of the Deputy Secretary. Read more about your future Group and Division.

Achieve success as an Executive Assistant

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

Act as the Deputy Secretary’s primary point of contact, triaging requests, setting priorities, and initiating action with discretion and confidentiality to maximise the effective use of executive time and support timely decision-making.
Manage the Deputy Secretary’s diary, correspondence, records, travel, and meeting logistics to ensure seamless operations, well-coordinated engagements, and the effective running of the executive office.
Prepare, coordinate, and review high-level communications, including submissions, briefing notes, and correspondence, to ensure issues and inquiries are addressed accurately, promptly, and with appropriate confidentiality.
Coordinate reports, advice, and briefings on complex policy and operational matters to support informed decision-making, forward planning, and the delivery of group priorities.
Monitor, implement, and improve administrative practices, systems, and procedures to increase efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and support consistent, high-quality business outcomes.
Provide issues management support and respond to emerging matters to enable timely resolution, minimise risk, and maintain continuity of executive and business operations.
Coordinate the group administrative team to ensure continuous coverage, effective information sharing, and consistent support for business priorities and executive operations.
