About the Program:
Families Together is a Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded program that offers flexible, family‑centred case management to help keep children safe and supported at home. Working alongside families, the program aims to reduce the need for out‑of‑home care by building on existing strengths and capabilities. The Program supports parents and carers to respond confidently to their children’s needs and create safe, nurturing home environments through parenting support, strengthened family functioning, promoting healthy child development, and providing practical assistance to ensure homes are safe and supportive places for children to grow.
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Level 4 Caseworker to join our supportive team in Waitara on a permanent
full-time basis, 5 days per week.
Reporting to the Specialist Lead, this role works in collaboration with families, colleagues and external services to implement family plans and reduce identified risks, seeking guidance and supervision for more complex matters. This role operates with a degree of autonomy under general direction, applying sound professional judgement to assess needs, strengthen family capacity and contribute to positive child safety and wellbeing outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
- Participate in whole-of-family assessments that consider child safety, parenting capacity, family functioning and practical needs.
- Gather information from families and relevant services to identify strengths, needs, and emerging risks, contributing to risk assessments and planning.
- Develop, implement and review Family Plans, supporting families to identify goals and actions that promote safety and wellbeing.
- Provide practical and relational support to families over time, supporting coordination with services to meet family-identified needs.
- Maintain timely, and accurate case notes and reports.
- Any other ad hoc duties as directed by Manager.
What You’ll Bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science (or related discipline).
- Experience working with children & families experiencing multiple challenges.
- Understanding of child safety and family preservation principles, with the ability to apply policies and procedures under guidance and supervision.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to maintain case notes and communicate effectively with families and service partners.
- Demonstrated time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
