At St Vincent’s, we believe better care begins with deeper understanding, bringing together insight, innovation, compassion and curiosity to create safer, smarter and more connected healthcare for the communities we serve.
For more than 165 years, St Vincent’s Health Australia has stood beside Australians through life’s most important moments. Today, we are one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health and aged care providers, with over 30,000 people delivering exceptional care across hospitals, aged care homes and community services in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
We are now at a pivotal moment of transformation. We are reimagining how care is delivered, evolving digital and geographically dispersed models of care, strengthening clinical capability, and using data, intelligence and AI to support better outcomes at scale.
We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Intelligence & Automation Lead to help lead this transformation.
This is a role for someone who is as passionate about people as they are about data, someone who listens deeply, works collaboratively, and uses insight to empower others. You will play a critical role in reshaping how we understand risk, improve quality and support clinicians, helping ensure our people can focus on what matters most: delivering care.
Through advanced analytics, intelligent automation and responsible AI, you will help shift the organisation from retrospective reporting to proactive, intelligence-led care, enabling earlier intervention, better decisions and safer outcomes for every person who entrusts us with their health.
This is more than a technical role. It is an opportunity to help transform care at a national scale — unlocking the potential of our clinicians and enabling them to operate at the top of their capability.
Reporting to the Group Manager, Clinical Governance Informatics, you will lead the development of modern clinical intelligence capabilities that support confident, informed decision-making across the organisation.
You will design and implement scalable data pipelines, early-warning analytics and practical AI solutions that directly support patient safety, clinical governance and operational improvement.
Working across modern cloud platforms and AI technologies, you will partner closely with clinicians, governance teams, technology and executive stakeholders to deliver secure, well-governed and meaningful solutions grounded in real clinical needs.
This role is as much about people as it is about platforms. You will build trust, translate complexity into clarity, and help create a culture where data is understood, trusted and used to improve care.
Lead the design and optimisation of scalable clinical data platforms and pipelines
Develop meaningful metrics and early-warning indicators to identify and respond to risk earlier
Apply AI, automation and emerging technologies (including LLMs and Generative AI) in practical, responsible ways
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for clinicians and leaders
Strengthen data governance, privacy, quality and security
Partner across clinical, operational and technology teams to co-design solutions
Help shift from retrospective reporting to proactive, intelligence-led care delivery
Identify opportunities to automate and redesign work — enabling clinicians to focus on high-value, human-centred care
Support data literacy and self-service analytics across the organisation
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of clinical intelligence strategy and capabilities
A technically strong data and AI professional who thrives at the intersection of healthcare, analytics, innovation and you want your work to matter.
You bring deep expertise across modern data platforms, engineering and automation, but just as importantly, you lead with curiosity, humility and a genuine commitment to people.
You are collaborative, thoughtful, and impact-driven able to translate complexity into meaningful insight, and to work alongside clinicians and leaders to improve decision-making and care.
You are motivated by the opportunity to help transform healthcare not just through technology, but by unlocking human capability.
