About School Infrastructure | Asset Management Division
School Infrastructure (SI) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades, and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
About the role
- Provide asset and facilities management services to a portfolio of schools
- Act as a key point of contact for schools, contractors, and stakeholders to support the delivery of maintenance and project works
- Manage and support day-to-day facilities maintenance, including work orders, contractor follow-up, site issues, make-safe works, insurance events and defect management
- Prepare and review scopes of work, estimates and project documentation
- Support the planning, procurement, delivery and close-out of capital works, planned maintenance and facilities management activities
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure and timeframes
- Identify, assess and escalate asset, WHS, compliance and operational risks across school sites, ensuring appropriate actions are progressed.
- Work collaboratively with schools and internal teams to prioritise works, resolve issues and maintain safe, functional and fit-for-purpose learning environments.

About you
- Experience or interest in construction, facilities management, asset management, project coordination, maintenance, trades or a related field.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, follow up actions and work through issues in a timely manner.
- A practical problem-solving approach, with the ability to assess issues, seek advice where required and support the delivery of appropriate outcomes.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear emails, updates, records and basic documentation.
- An interest in developing skills in scope writing, cost estimation, budget monitoring, contractor coordination and facilities management.
- A willingness to learn, take initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team supporting safe and functional school environments.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Current and valid NSW Driver's Licence
- Willingness and ability to travel across the assigned area of Asset Management of Sydney
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
