The opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Processing Operations Superintendent to join the team at our Duketon South operation.
As a key member of our site leadership team, you will lead the processing operations team to deliver planned production safely, efficiently, and cost effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with operations, maintenance, technical teams, and suppliers, you will drive plant performance, team capability, and operational discipline across the processing function.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the processing operations team to safely and effectively deliver planned production targets
Promote and instil a strong safety culture
Lead process supervisors, coordinators, training advisors, and operators to build a high-performance team culture
Implement fit for purpose operating systems including safety meetings, production meetings, planning meetings, handovers, and pre-starts
Ensure plant production volume, cost, and quality are on or ahead of budget
Monitor operations and key metallurgical performance indicators, recommending corrective actions to maximise operational efficiency
Oversee crushing, processing, assaying, gold recovery, and gold security activities
Develop bottom-up operational and capital cost budgets, monitor expenditure, and provide monthly cost and variance analysis reports to the manager
Support maintenance planning and provide technical input into plant improvements
Lead continuous improvement and business improvement initiatives to enhance culture, productivity and operational discipline
Skills and Experiences:
About You
Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline
A high performer with specific extensive and proven experience in a superintendent processing operations role particularly in gold CIL processing
Display strategically minded, driven, strong interpersonal skills, and an inclusive style with a results orientated approach targeted at delivering sustainable business outcomes
Strong leadership and people development capability, with experience building high-performing teams
Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and operational discipline - A visible safety leader producing exceptional safety results
Excellent planning, scheduling, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and business improvement programs
Commercial acumen with experience with drafting and managing processing budgets, costs, and operational performance
Computer literacy across Microsoft Office and operational systems such as Excel, PowerPoint, Qlik, and Pronto
