About the Role

Fairhill Nursery is seeking a passionate and reliable Chef to join our growing café and hospitality team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment surrounded by nature, plants, and community.

We are currently looking for someone part time. We are looking for someone seeking a long-term role within our team and who is excited to grow with the business.

Hours of Work

Standard shift hours: 6:30am – 2:30pm
Shifts include weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods as required

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook café menu items to a high standard
Assist with seasonal menu development and specials
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
Manage food preparation and service during busy periods
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
Reduce waste and maintain efficient kitchen operations
Work collaboratively with front-of-house and nursery staff
Ensure consistency in food presentation and customer experience
Assist with catering, events, and special functions when required

Skills & Experience

Previous experience working in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and time management skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Positive attitude and team-focused approach
Creativity and passion for quality food and presentation

Requirements

Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable transport and punctuality
Full Australian working rights suitable for ongoing employment
