Afoods Pty Ltd T/A Amin’s Butcher and Grill, located in Springwood QLD 4127, is a well-established food business recognised for premium quality meats and freshly prepared grill items. We focus on authentic flavours, fresh ingredients, and consistent quality. Our team-oriented workplace values professionalism, food safety, and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to manage and support daily kitchen operations. The role involves menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency in line with industry expectations. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef with a passion for cooking and exceptional organisation skills to join our vibrant and hard-working Springwood crew.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and review menus in consultation with management, considering quality, variety, and cost control
Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and standards
Liaise with management and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation requirements, workflow, and service expectations
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
Assist in selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff as required
Coordinate and organise daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service delivery.
Prepare, season, and cook food using appropriate methods in accordance with menu requirements
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on food preparation and cooking procedures to kitchen staff
Freeze, store, and preserve food items in accordance with food safety and storage guidelines

Qualifications & Experience

AQF Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, grilling techniques, and kitchen operations.
Proven ability to supervise staff and manage kitchen workflows.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
