## Chief Information Officer
## Position Overview
We are looking for a visionary and commercially astute Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our organisation's information and communications technology strategy, operations, and governance. This is a senior executive role suited to an experienced technology leader who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and digital innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning ICT capabilities with organisational priorities, driving transformation, and ensuring the long-term integrity and security of our technology infrastructure.
## Key Responsibilities
- Analyse organisational information needs and define technology solutions that effectively support business objectives and operational performance
- Formulate, implement, and continuously refine ICT strategies, policies, and plans that align with the organisation's broader mission and priorities
- Lead the selection, procurement, and installation of ICT systems and infrastructure, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and fit for purpose
- Direct ICT operations across the organisation, setting clear priorities between system development, ongoing maintenance, and day-to-day operations
- Oversee the organisation's cybersecurity posture, ensuring robust protections are in place to safeguard data, systems, and digital assets
- Drive digital transformation initiatives that improve organisational efficiency, enhance service delivery, and support innovation
- Develop and manage the ICT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and demonstrable return on technology investment
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing ICT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development
- Engage and manage relationships with external technology vendors, partners, and service providers to ensure contractual obligations and service standards are met
- Champion the rollout of user training programmes to ensure staff are equipped to effectively adopt and utilise ICT systems and tools
- Provide executive-level reporting and strategic advice to the Board and senior leadership team on technology risks, opportunities, and performance
- Ensure ICT systems and practices remain compliant with relevant legislation, industry standards, and data governance frameworks
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a senior ICT leadership role, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-wide technology strategy
- Proven ability to align ICT capability with organisational strategy and drive measurable business outcomes
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and data governance best practices
- Experience managing large-scale ICT budgets, procurement processes, and vendor relationships
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of ICT infrastructure, cloud environments, enterprise systems, and emerging technologies
- High-level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of an organisation
## Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration (MBA), Information Technology, or a related field
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, TOGAF, CISSP, or equivalent
- Experience leading digital transformation programmes within complex or large-scale organisations
- Familiarity with Australian data privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles
- Prior experience presenting to executive leadership teams or Boards of Directors
