Stop Valve Espresso & Bar is currently seeking an experienced full-time Chef to join our Darlinghurst team.

Key Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time work experience in a Chef role within a high-volume, fast-paced commercial kitchen.

Relevant Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management (or equivalent).

Demonstrated ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus, and presentation standards.

Ability to assist with the preparation of daily service items and specials under the direction of senior kitchen staff.

Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation practices, including compliance with Australian food safety standards.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency.

Experience in monitoring stock levels, assisting with ordering supplies, and minimising food wastage.

Ability to follow kitchen procedures, portion control standards, and quality guidelines.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse kitchen team.

Ability to work across different kitchen sections and support the broader kitchen team as required during service.

Experience supporting or assisting junior kitchen staff is desirable.

Experience assisting with the training of apprentices or junior kitchen staff is desirable.

Experience preparing modern Australian cuisine or working in a similar restaurant environment will be highly regarded.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by restaurant operations.

Position Details:

Full-time position (38 hours per week).

Annual salary range of $75,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications

Location: Darlinghurst NSW 2010
