We’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team of skilled Workshop and Field Service mechanics and drive performance, safety, and service excellence every day.

About the role

As Workshop Manager, you’ll take ownership of a major workshop operation — leading people, planning workloads, and ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standards. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll align workshop priorities to customer demand and play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality equipment.

What you’ll do

Lead and coach a team of mechanics, and contractors to deliver safe, efficient outcomes
Plan and prioritise maintenance, servicing, and repairs to maximise fleet availability
Drive a strong safety-first culture across all workshop activities
Manage workshop performance, including costs, utilisation, and equipment uptime
Coordinate field service, breakdown response, and external repairs
Ensure all equipment meets Coates’ quality standards

What you’ll bring

Proven leadership experience in a workshop or operational environment
Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter/Mechanic or equivalent)
Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
Solid commercial awareness and focus on cost-effective outcomes
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
