Carinya Christian School is now accepting applications for the Grounds and Maintenance Team, which is based in Gunnedah, commencing March 2026.

The Position
Position Type: Full-Time position | Position Title: Cleaner and Maintenance Worker | Location: Based in Gunnedah, NSW
Carinya Christian School is accepting applications for the position in Cleaning and Maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of over 200 Christian staff between the Tamworth and Gunnedah schools, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, while working alongside other team members.
A sucessful applicant will posses a high attention to detail, ability to work in a safe and efficient manner, self-motivated and able to use initiative in proactively recognising the needs of the School.

BACKGROUND TO THE POSITION OF Cleaner and Maintenance
Carinya seeks to support quality education through the provision of a clean and safe environment and the provision of quality facilities.

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
To present the buildings, grounds, and gardens of Carinya is a clean, neat, tidy, and attractive manner. To Provide general maintenance of School’s buildings to a safe and clean standard for the School community and supporting quality education through the provision of quality facilities.

Duties
Include, but not be limited to the following:
- Ensuring the school is kept in a good state of repair, and is clean, well presented and ready for use at all times
- Mowing and trimming lawn areas
- Assistance with other general maintenance tasks as directed
- Supporting the day to day overall operations of the school including provisioning events with required equipment and services as requested
- Work as part of the existing cleaning and maintenance team to complete general cleaning duties across all aspects of the school
- General cleaning duties include but are not limited to vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors. Cleaning desks, window sills, white boards and other surfaces. Removing and disposing of rubbish. Cleaning student and staff amenities including kitchen areas, washrooms, toilets, and showers
- General rubbish collection each morning and circulation of bins around school as required
- Adhering to the Work Health and Safety policies of the school at all times, only executing work for which an appropriate qualification is held, when a qualification is required
- Take initiative to identify issues, solve problems where appropriate, and make recommendations to the Maintenance Manager.

Classification & Commencement
Classifications are based the Independent Schools of NSW (Professional and Operational Staff) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.
Commencement
This position is available for an immediate start.
