We are seeking a commercially astute Senior FP&A Analyst to join a high-performing finance team based in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of FP&A – Strategic Accounts & Wholesale, this role plays a pivotal part in driving financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis to inform and influence strategic decision-making.
This role will take ownership of FP&A across a portfolio of B2B support functions, while also supporting the Strategic Accounts Opex segment. In addition, you will work closely with the Head of FP&A to contribute to the consolidation and performance oversight of the broader B2B segment, providing meaningful insights at a group level.
Beyond core reporting, this role offers the opportunity to shape and enhance how financial information is delivered to the business. You will play a key role in challenging existing reporting frameworks, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing more effective, insight-driven approaches to elevate decision-making across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: lead monthly and annual forecasting processes within the remit, support the preparation of the annual budget cycle and long-term planning, develop and maintain robust financial models to support planning and forecasting activities
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: deliver timely and insightful variance analysis for Finance leads and stakeholders; prepare commentary and reporting packs, identify risks & opportunities and trends to drive business performance
- Business Partnering: supporting immediate Business stakeholders, Senior Finance stakeholders and direct manager.
- Process Improvement & Systems: drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools and reporting frameworks; ensure accuracy, integrity and consistency of financial data; challenge the current medium where appropriate and propose alternative means to improve effectiveness and increase efficiency.
- Ad-hoc analysis: Perform ad hoc analysis in response to specific Business or Senior Finance stakeholder queries or challenges, delivering actionable insights in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting
- CA/CPA qualification
- Experience in mid-to-large organisations or complex environments preferred
- Understanding of Accounting & Finance fundamentals at the level of one with qualifications and experience outlined above
- Advanced Excel with proficiency in financial modelling and analysis
- Strong experience with financial systems (Adaptive Insights highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow drivers.
