About the role

Join MacKillop Family Services as a Youth Residential Care Worker and support young people in a safe, therapeutic home environment. You’ll help with daily routines, build meaningful relationships, and respond to complex needs with empathy and professionalism. Every shift is different, and you’ll be part of a team committed to child safety, healing, and growth. MacKillop provides training, supervision, and opportunities to develop your career while making a real impact.

This is a parttime/casual opportunity based in the west metro region within our OOHC program. The position reports to the Residential House Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
Experience working in a residential care setting is preferred.
Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, along with awareness of the current issues affecting Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.

You must have a:

First Aid Cert (with a minimum 6-month validity)
Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
