As a Case Manager – Relationships, you’ll guide members and beneficiaries through complex insurance claims with professionalism, empathy and clarity—ensuring they feel supported, informed and respected throughout the process.

The impact you’ll make
In this role, you’ll manage insurance claims across:
- Death
- Terminal Illness
- Income Protection
- Permanent Incapacity
- Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD)
You’ll work closely with insurers, trustees and internal specialists to ensure claims are managed fairly, efficiently and in line with legislative requirements.
Most importantly, you’ll help members navigate some of life’s most challenging circumstances with confidence and dignity.
What the role looks like day-to-day
You’ll take end-to-end ownership of claims, acting as the primary point of contact for members and stakeholders.
Your work will include:
- Managing a portfolio of claims from initial notification through to final resolution
- Maintaining regular phone contact with members and claimants to provide updates and support
- Investigating claims thoroughly, particularly death claims where identifying beneficiaries is critical
- Coordinating documentation and working with insurers and trustees to progress claims efficiently
- Handling complex or sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Ensuring claims are processed within service standards and compliance requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the member experience
- Collaborating with colleagues across operations, client teams and insurers

What we’re looking for
You’re someone who can balance compassion with professionalism while managing complex cases and multiple priorities.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in group life insurance claims, including Death, TPD, Income Protection or Permanent Incapacity
- Alternatively, experience in personal injury or similar case management environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build rapport quickly with members and stakeholders
- Confidence managing sensitive or difficult conversations
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Desirable:
- Knowledge of group superannuation and relevant legislation (SIS Act, Insurance Act)
- RG146 compliance
Tertiary qualifications in business, insurance, financial planning, legal or related fields
