Cater Care is seeking a passionate and capable Chef Manager to lead kitchen operations at Highvale Retirement Village in Glen Waverley. What You'll Be Doing
As Chef Manager, you'll take ownership of the kitchen's day-to-day operations while leading a team committed to excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and motivating a dedicated culinary team
Overseeing all food preparation and presentation to ensure consistently high standards
Delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that meet resident needs and expectations
Managing large-scale catering operations efficiently and effectively
Driving a culture of exceptional customer service, care and professionalism
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and quality standards
Overseeing the preparation and presentation of texture-modified and specialised dietary meals
Managing kitchen administration, stock control and operational requirements
Reviewing and contributing to seasonal menu planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Previous experience in a Chef Manager, Head Chef or similar leadership role
Experience within aged care, healthcare or retirement living environments is highly regarded but not essential
Proven ability to manage large-scale catering operations and kitchen teams
Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire and support others
Commitment to quality, safety and delivering exceptional dining experiences
Passion for creating meals that positively impact people's wellbeing
