ABOUT THE ROLE
The role reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer, Dep Chief Finance Officer, Executive Leadership Directors and works with key stakeholders across the Finance and Procurement function to support the successful delivery of the organisational objectives.
This role brings together workflow management, executive and support, people support, coordination, and finance/project support, helping to break down silos, and ensuring that priorities are delivered accurately and on time.
The Manager Finance Systems & Reporting has two direct reports who provide executive and business operations support across all the Finance directorates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Workflow management and quality control

Manage and quality assure workflows for briefings and approvals.

Coordinate correspondence, executive requests (including Ministerial/Secretary/Deputy Secretary), and time-critical responses.

Support delivery of high-profile processes such as budget estimates and Cabinet-related responses.
Strategic coordination and business management

Provide strategic and operational coordination support across Finance.

Support, plan and coordinate communication and engagement activities.

Contribute to corporate deliverables such as annual reporting requirements.

Coordinate procurement activity and management support.
People support and workforce coordination

Support organisational structure management and establishment maintenance.

Coordinate Recruitment
Finance, Budgets and Project support

Support budget planning, tracking and forward planning across Finance.

Drive process mapping and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide project coordination support and manage emerging issues as they arise.
KEY Accountabilities

Lead the development and review of financial performance reporting frameworks, operations and processes to effectively monitor progress of financial performance against organisational outcomes, strategic objectives and plans

Manage the delivery of fit for purpose financial performance analysis and reports to senior executives and business areas to enable informed decision making and to facilitate organisational continuous improvement

Oversee collaboration with key stakeholders to improve financial performance measures, tools and governance processes to enhance business systems, processes and workflows

Manage the Organisation’s reporting process and provide expert advice for the development of relevant measurement, data collection, corporate financial performance measures and outcome indicators to improve the quality and comparability of financial performance reporting across divisions

Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources to deliver priorities and a positive employee experience

Maintain awareness of relevant issues, policy obligations, accounting practices, insights, challenges, industry trends and practices and opportunities to in order to identify, pursue, evaluate, recommend and deliver innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS

Sound judgement and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.

Strong accuracy, attention to detail, consistency and quality in service delivery including quality assurance of briefing notes and reports.

Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships

Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal), including preparing clear briefs, updates and operational advice.

Financial and resource management capability, including budget support, tracking and forward planning.

Project coordination and continuous improvement capability, including process mapping and practical problem-solving.
