What you'll be doing
The Executive Officer, Mental Health Drug &Alcohol (MHDA), is responsible for the provision of high level executive and administrative work for the Director MHDA. The position plays a pivotal role in liaising between the MHDA Team, the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Executive and the Service Directors, MHDA. The position is the professional head for all MHDA Administrative Officer positions under the Admin Officer and Executive Assistant positions of lower grade. The position is also responsible for the provision and management of a relief casual pool, ensuring professional development and employment related issues are addressed.
As a senior member of the MHDA Directorate, the position will provide high level leadership to the MHDA administrative team to ensure quality and timely delivery of senior executive support to the MHDA Directors and Service Directors, enable the effective and efficient operation of the MHDA Directorate and ensure optimum and efficient utilisation of administrative services across MHDA.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Extensive experience in the provision of high level administrative tasks at an Executive level with a proven ability to work autonomously, under pressure and to analyse, assess, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, as well as taking the initiative and responsibility for quality completion of tasks.
Proven high level ability in interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills, including superior formal written expression skills, advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, and experience [or willingness to be trained in] in the information systems utilised within NSLHD e.g. Health Roster, Stafflink, ROB, RISKIT and Oracle.
- Experience and skills in providing professional and administrative leadership and direction in relation to the administration processes, workloads, learning and development of administrative and secretariat staff including the ability to provide leadership skills in conflict resolution and team building.
