The Role
This position is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining commercial and residential landscapes, including green walls, green roofs, gabions, hardscape installations, softscape planting, and horticultural management.
You will be part of the team responsible for the ongoing care, upkeep, and operations of greenwalls, roofs and landscaping . Some of your daily tasks can include:
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining greenwalls, greenroofs, planters, irrigation lines, pumps, and plumbing systems
- Performing general horticultural maintenance: pruning, fertilising, weeding, planting / replacing plants
- Irrigation - checking and adjusting irrigation / fertigation schedules, ensuring correct watering delivery
- Conducting preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and system failures
- Identifying and addressing issues (leaks, pests, growth problems, structural issues)
- Keeping maintenance records, logs, and reports
- Working on small installations, site modifications, or repairs as needed
- Communication with clients
What We’re Looking For
Essential / desirable Skills and Experience:
- Horticultural TAFE qualification or equivalent (eg. Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Landscaping or equivalent horticulture qualification)
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Practical experience in garden and landscape maintenance
- Knowledge of plant care, soil health and general garden maintenance
- Ability to identify plant species, soil types, pests, and diseases
- Experience with irrigation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape design blueprints.
- Strong communications skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve on site
- Ability & license to drive an Elevated Work Platform (eg. Forklift) is desirable
- White Card certification.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and methodical work habits
- Physical fitness and comfort with outdoor work, sometimes at heights on ladders, scaffolding or rooftops.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Drivers licence, and ability to drive manual vehicles
Working Commitment
- Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm on offer or part time also available.
- Nursery base location is Ingleside where the days starts.
- Service locations are all across Sydney.
- Driving between client sites will be required as part of your role.
- You’ll generally work outdoors so if you love the outdoors this is the right job for you.
