We're a strategy-led mortgage broking firm, and we're looking for someone who wants to be close to meaningful client work, not buried in volume. About the Role

As an Associate Finance Strategist, you'll support our Finance Strategists with the analysis, research and documentation that underpins every client strategy we deliver. You'll attend client meetings (where required), develop credit proposals, and work on real, complex lending scenarios — not a conveyor belt of cookie-cutter applications.

This is a role for someone who wants to do the work well. Everything else follows from that.

What You'll Be Doing

Client Strategy Support

Attend discovery, strategy and review meetings alongside senior Finance Strategists
Contribute to the development and refinement of tailored client lending strategies

Credit Analysis & Research

Prepare detailed credit analysis reports covering income, liabilities, assets and cash flow
Model borrowing capacity, servicing outcomes and structuring options across multiple lenders
Research lender policies to support strategic recommendations

Proposals & Documentation

Draft credit proposals and lender submissions aligned to recommended strategies
Assist with scenario modelling and presenting options clearly to clients
Maintain accurate, compliant documentation across all client files

Collaboration & Workflow

Work closely with Finance Strategists and broker support officers
Maintain CRM records and file notes with precision
Proactively support smooth execution of client strategies

Ongoing Reviews

At the 6-month mark, assess client equity positions and recommend action or no-action decisions to the broker team

What We're Looking For

You'll need:

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Credit Analyst within an Australian mortgage broking firm
Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management (ASIC-compliant)
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics or a related field
Experience with trust, company and SMSF structures, including lending policy and loan application requirements across these entity types
Strong analytical and numerical skills with sharp attention to detail
Solid understanding of Australian residential lending and lender policy
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational ability and comfort managing competing priorities

Bonus points for:

Experience with BrokerEngine
Experience using FLEX CRM
Exposure to strategy-led or advice-focused broking businesses
