About the Role
We’re seeking both Commis Chefs and Chef de Parties to join the opening team at San Telmo Brisbane. While both roles are hands-on kitchen positions within a fast-paced, premium restaurant environment, the scope of responsibilities will vary depending on your level of experience and position.
Commis Chef Duties
- Supporting day-to-day kitchen operations during service
- Assisting with food preparation and section setup
- Learning San Telmo standards, recipes and cooking techniques
- Maintaining cleanliness, food safety and organisation across the kitchen
- Working closely with senior chefs to develop your skills and progress your career
Chef de Partie Duties
- Leading your section and driving consistent service execution
- Assisting with menu development, recipe consistency and food quality
- Supporting the training and development of junior kitchen staff
- Managing section preparation, stock control and ordering where required
- Contributing to a structured, high-performing kitchen culture
Skills & Experience
- Proven BOH experience in a fast-paced, premium restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of section management, prep organisation and service execution
- Ability to maintain consistency and quality during high-volume service periods
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operational standards
- Full working rights in Australia and availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
