About the role
We are seeking a Lawyer to join a growing practice specialising in domestic building insurance and construction related disputes. This role offers the opportunity to join at a pivotal time, with upcoming regulatory changes expected to significantly increase the volume and complexity of work within the team.
Working closely with experienced practitioners, you will be involved in a broad range of matters across domestic building disputes, insurance claims and litigation. The role will involve direct client engagement and exposure to matters from an early stage, providing meaningful responsibility and the chance to develop your technical and commercial expertise.
While the core focus of the role will be domestic building insurance work, there will be opportunities to gain exposure across related construction and dispute resolution matters as the practice continues to grow. You will play an important part in a lean, collaborative team where your contribution will be visible and valued.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer looking to build their career in a specialist area, with strong mentoring, hands on experience and the chance to be part of a practice with clear growth trajectory.
About you
You will be a Lawyer with approximately 1–3 years’ post admission experience, ideally with exposure to litigation, construction, insurance or disputes work.
You will bring:
- A strong foundation in litigation or dispute resolution, with an interest in construction or insurance related matters
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast paced, client driven environment
- Confidence in dealing with stakeholders and an interest in developing client facing skills
A proactive attitude, sound judgement and a willingness to learn and take ownership of your work
-
Experience in domestic building disputes or property based insurance work will be highly regarded but is not essential. Candidates with transferable litigation experience and a genuine interest in developing in this area are encouraged to apply.
You will be motivated to build your career in a growing practice and comfortable working in a role that offers both autonomy and accountability within a supportive team environment.

James Collier, who heads up our Builders Warranty practice is looking for a 1 – 2-year lawyer (absolute minimum 12 months PQE) to work in his area.
As you would know, Builders Warranty is quite a niche area, so James is happy to train someone bright and enthusiastic up to work in it. The work is at the intersection between litigation, construction, and insurance - so we are looking for someone from a litigation background and some exposure to construction / building would be advantageous. They could also some from an insurance background, but we probably need to be a bit careful how we phrase this in the advertisement as we often get tons of juniors wanting to get out of motor vehicle every time we advertise!
Most important is attitude and aptitude – we can train the right person to do the work - James has hired a number of juniors and knows what he is looking for, and who is successful in this area.
