About us

Founded in 1917, the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) is a leading independent tertiary institution specialising in sport, health, science, dance, sports business, and teacher education. We are a friendly, supportive campus community passionate about helping students succeed.

About the role

We are looking for positive, enthusiastic lecturers to join our team as part time or casual lecturers in Education. This is a great opportunity for experienced educators whether from schools or higher education to contribute to the development of initial teacher education students in PDHPE.

You will play a key role in designing and delivering engaging learning experiences that support our future PDHPE teachers.

Teaching Areas

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in:

PDHPE and associated syllabuses (Stage 4- 6):
PDHPE 7-10
HMS 11-12
CAFS
Child Studies
Adolescent Health Issues
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning
Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions.
Encouraging and guiding discussions to promote active learning and critical thinking.
Assessment & Student Support
Preparing, marking and moderating assessments.
Providing academic support to students.
Curriculum & Program Development
Contributing to unit development, curriculum revision, and academic planning.
Resource Development:
Creating and compiling learning materials.

About you

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s qualification preferred, but strong applicants currently completing a Master’s (within 6 months), or with extensive PDHPE teaching experience will be considered
5+ years secondary teaching experience
Tertiary teaching experience (desirable but not essential)
Experience using LMS platforms such as Canvas
