Employment Status: 2-year Fixed Term
Days & Hours of Work: Monday - Friday totalling 38 hrs per week
Competitive Salary: Band 7 - $114,501 - $128,270 p.a. (depending on experience) +12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

This newly created 2-year fixed term position the Recreation Projects Officer supports the delivery and effective administration of recreation capital works projects including managing the client-side requirements of both major and minor initiatives. The role also focuses on fostering strong, collaborative relationships with sport and recreation organisations.

You will be responsible for:

The planning and delivery of sport and recreation related capital projects
Project overview as the Project Sponsor or Service Manager
Providing high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Design and delivery of community engagement activities
Production of technical Council reports
Developing and maintaining contact with State agencies, local governments, sporting clubs and volunteer groups

This position reports to the Coordinator Recreation.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

Tertiary qualifications in sport, recreation, project management or a related field
Knowledge and expertise working with community groups and volunteers to deliver sporting and community infrastructure
Experience in project management, community engagement, communications and experience in local government will be highly valued
Ability to prepare project briefs for consultancy work and project manage the consultants as required within the approved budgets and timelines
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external contacts, including the capacity to deal with and resolve conflict

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
Hold a valid Victorian Driver's licence
