We are seeking experienced and motivated Logistics Operational Business Analysts to drive operational efficiency, service excellence, and continuous improvement across multiple Defence sites nationwide with experience in the Government & Defence sector
This is dynamic and contract management operational role, working alongside operators and Defence stakeholders, to support operational execution and continuous improvement activities across the Customer Service aspect of Toll’s exciting new defence logistics contract.
Based at RAAF Richmond in NSW , You’ll sit at the center of operations, planning, and continuous improvement to deliver mission critical activities supporting the ADF. The work is dynamic where no two days are the same, fast-paced, high-trust, and directly tied to Defence outcomes.
The Operations Planner plays a critical hybrid role supporting both operational execution and continuous improvement across the DWDSS contract. This is primarily an operations planning–focused role, with a strong emphasis translating data to influence and help direct outcomes throughout the operations, you will thrive in an environment where you can influence at all levels of the organisation.
Acting as a key link between frontline operations, commercial, and Defence stakeholders, the role ensures effective service delivery while identifying opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, and compliance. The position contributes to both daily operational outcomes and longer-term strategic improvements aligned to contract KPIs and Defence expectations.

How you’ll make the right impact
As a Logistics Operational Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Defence logistics operations run efficiently and in line with contract expectations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
Planning and coordination of logistics support activities across Defence operations.
Day-to-day operational support including reporting, documentation, and system accuracy.
Data analysis to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Performance reporting, KPI tracking, and operational insights for stakeholders.
Maintaining integrity across Defence systems, registers, and documentation.
Stakeholder engagement across Defence personnel, site operations, and internal teams.
Supporting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Translating operational realities into actionable plans and recommendations.
Deliver day-to-day administrative and coordination support to operational teams.
Maintain registers, documentation, and data integrity across multiple systems.
Prepare reports, meeting packs, and operational documentation.
Support workforce onboarding and compliance processes.
Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement.
Develop reports and performance insights (e.g. KPI tracking).
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvement opportunities.
Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for motivated professionals who bring:
3–5 years’ experience in business analysis preferrable in Government & Defence, reporting, or process improvement.
Experience in supply chain, logistics, Defence contracts, or complex operations (preferred).
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or related fields will be highly regarded, along with formal Business Analysis training or certification.
Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency with Excel and data visualisation/reporting tools (Power BI, SQL).
Understanding of ERP/WMS systems and their integration with operations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly to non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on problem solving.
Eligibility to make the grade
