Project Officer

Salary: $100,894 - $114,476 (Plus Superannuation)
Ongoing role
Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

This is a prioritised position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with the Special Measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). The Role

The Project Officer will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and initiatives related to Marrung and Wurreker within the TAFE Strategy Systems and Tertiary Governance Branch. Reporting to the Manager, Marrung, the Project Officer supports the team to ensure key project milestones are achieved on time, within scope, and on budget.

Main accountabilities:

Prepares clear and accurate reports, briefs and correspondence on issues affecting programs, communities or the organisation.
Prepares project scopes and briefs within broad parameters, seeking input from stakeholders and community where relevant.
Drafts reports and recommendations by interpreting and analysing a range of data - including quantitative, qualitative and community insights.
Determines operational service delivery plans based on agreed standards and reflecting culturally safe and appropriate practice.

The Team

The position of Project Officer forms a part of the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery within the Skills and TAFE group.

Skills and TAFE (S&T) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. The Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) incorporating the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch and the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch, plays a system leadership and management role for the Victorian TAFE Network (VTN) across Victoria.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Partnering and Co-creation: Builds respectful relationships with stakeholders, including Aboriginal communities and partners, to understand user needs and co-design solutions. Works collaboratively to ensure decisions are made within agreed timeframes.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve services and ways of working; Seeks feedback and incorporates diverse perspectives, including cultural knowledge, to support learning and innovation.
Project Delivery: Plans and delivers project tasks to meet agreed outcomes. Supports or coordinates others to deliver work activities; Monitors progress of tasks and takes action when adjustments are needed.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicates respectfully and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Takes steps to understand cultural considerations, add value, and resolve issues constructively. Makes connections with other areas and stakeholders to improve outcomes.
