Full Job Description

The Queensland Parliamentary Service (QPS) provides the professional support and services that enable the Legislative Assembly, its committees and 93 Members of Parliament to serve the people of Queensland. Through its skilled workforce, QPS ensures the Parliament can carry out its legislative, constitutional and representational responsibilities.

The Enterprise Architecture and Program Delivery team is seeking an experienced and motivated Solution Architect to design and lead the delivery of enterprise-wide business and technology solutions that support strategic organisational outcomes.

In this influential role, you will work closely with executives, stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to co-design sustainable, secure, and customer-focused solutions that deliver measurable business value and support the ongoing evolution of the Parliamentary Service technology environment.

Key objectives:
Deliver strategic and high-impact business and technology solutions aligned to organisational priorities
Drive stakeholder engagement and co-design through effective consultation and influence
Strengthen enterprise architecture, governance, and quality frameworks

Your role:
Lead the design and development of integrated business and technology solutions, including strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and change impacts
Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability, and performance standards
Plan and oversee system integration across applications, databases, APIs, and services
Facilitate stakeholder workshops to elicit requirements and co-design future-state operating models and solutions
Produce high-quality architecture artefacts such as solution designs, operating models, user stories, and use cases
Apply industry standards and evidence-based practices to ensure accurate, traceable documentation and continuous framework improvement
Engage constructively with vendors and external partners to evaluate emerging technologies and solutions

What we are looking for:
Demonstrated experience delivering Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture outcomes within complex environments
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
Experience influencing and collaborating across business and technology teams
Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar
Relevant qualifications or certifications in Information Technology, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Architecture will be highly regarded
