Storeperson – Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL)

Are you ready to apply your planning skills and knowledge to a role that directly supports Australia’s Defence capability? At Toll Group, we are proud to be expanding our Government and Defence portfolio through the Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract.

We’re looking for skilled Storeperson to help personnel meet mandatory training compliance and are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively perform their duties nationwide.

Based at Garden Island Defence in NSW , you’ll act as a critical bridge supporting the day-to-day operations of specific site for DTL operations. This position provides crucial support to the efficient operation of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching Defence equipment, supplies, and materials. Working under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Store Person Grade 2 ensures that all tasks are performed in compliance with the Government & Defence contractual requirements, Defence regulations, safety protocols, and operational standards. The role requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. You must hold a current & Valid Dangerous Goods Certification .

How you’ll make the right impact

As a Storeperson , you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Defence logistics operations run efficiently and in line with contract expectations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

Support DTL contract from a site operational warehouse perspective
Attend site meetings as required
Committed to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to WHS standards

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for motivated professionals who bring:

Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or similar operational environment is desirable, though not essential for this entry-level position
Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for (and maintain) an Australian AGSVA Defence Security Clearance
Safety Orientation: Committed to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to WHS standards
Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to the success of the warehouse operation
Time Management: Efficiently managing workload and meeting deadlines in a time-sensitive environment
Attention to Detail: Consistently ensuring accuracy in all aspects of stock management, order fulfillment, and reporting
The role involves manual handling, lifting, and carrying of materials, so physical fitness is necessary to meet the demands of the job

Eligibility to make the grade

Hold a current and valid Dangerous Goods certification
Be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or higher).
