About Us:

Raya Healthcare is an NDIS registered organisation that provides disability supports across Melbourne’s North, West, East, and South East suburbs, and select locations across Australia as a whole. Raya Healthcare provides a wide variety of supports across Core, Capacity Building, and Capital Supports.

The Position:

We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our supportive and growing team to work with our participants in Smithfield Plains, and Davoren Park, SA. One participant is a six year-old boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3, developmental delays, and complex behavioural needs. The other participant is an eight-year-old girl with high needs, and complex behaviours, she requires calm redirection and reassurance from her stimming behaviours.

Experience managing participants with these needs will be crucial, as well as experience with young children.

As part of our team of support workers, you will assist the participants with daily tasks, such as community access, eating meals, regulating emotions and mood, among other duties to ensure that the participant receives the support and care they require.

Qualifications & Experience:

Demonstrated knowledge of disability and mental health.
Experience in the Support Worker or Disability Field.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain).
Victorian Driver's license and vehicle.
NDIS worker Screening Check (willing to obtain).
Minimum 2 years experience.
Experienced with ASD.
Experienced with participants with complex behavioural needs.
Experience with supporting children.

Basic computer/technology knowledge.
Excellent customer service skills and genuine care and attention to our participants.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Have passion for what you do.

Tasks & responsibilities

Work with participants who have varying needs.
Flexible work arrangements around their individual needs, including shift times/days.
Be available for last-minute calls to fill in cancelled shifts.
Complete a Support Worker Profile for the participants and their family to get to know you.
