Full Job Description

iCARE Youth and Community Services Pty Ltd is a dedicated NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) registered provider, and a provider of residential placements for the Department of Children and Families in the Northern Territory (NT). Our core mission is to provide essential care and support services to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being, independence, and inclusion in the community. Our service offerings encompass a wide range of NDIS-approved supports, including accommodation, therapy, and community access programs, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve.

Due to increased demand for our services, we have multiple positions available for this role in Alice Springs and the surrounding areas of Central Australia, NT.

Position Description

Assist individuals, families and groups with social, emotional or financial difficulties to improve quality of life, by educating and supporting them and working towards change in their social environment

Duties:

Support vulnerable individuals and families experiencing trauma, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health challenges, or child protection involvement.
Assists and supports individuals and families experiencing difficulties in accessing resources available to them
Conduct risk assessments, crisis interventions, and support planning within culturally diverse and remote community settings.
Advise individuals on rights and entitlements to social security payments and services
Coordinate referrals and engagement with government agencies, housing services, healthcare providers, and community organisations.
Assessing risks and providing intensive short-term crisis counselling for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, disasters and other crises
Deliver culturally informed wellbeing and advocacy support for Aboriginal clients and participants with complex psychosocial needs.
Assist in establishing relationships with neighbourhood houses, community groups, employment training programs and other services to members of the community
Refers clients to welfare support services
Prepares reports and maintains client records
Researching and analysing community issues, needs and problems
Developing, evaluating and maintaining community resources and programs
Evaluating data and writing reports such as submissions requesting funding for continuing programs and new projects
Identifying issues of local need, concerns and aspirations through community consultation
Organising local sporting, cultural and recreational events and activities such as community functions, hobby classes, community arts projects and sporting competitions
Providing support while exploring alternatives with clients who experience difficulties such as marital problems, unemployment, illness and drug abuse

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, the ideal candidate must have/be willing to obtain the following:

Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF bachelor’s degree or higher and one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience or

At least 5 years of relevant full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience

Current National Police Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid Certificate
Availability to work across a 24/7 Roster to meet operational needs
NT Driver's Licence
