Skills and experience expected include:

An AQF Certificate II or at least one year of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with complex needs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and person-centred care principles.

Irena Care Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider based in Shepparton VIC, delivering flexible and person-centred support services to participants across the region. We support participants of all ages through a range of services including daily living assistance, community participation, allied health support, plan management, and support coordination.

We are seeking a full-time Disability Care Worker to support the delivery of high-quality care services to clients with diverse needs. The role involves providing direct care to participants in accordance with their individualised NDIS plans, promoting independence, safety and wellbeing.

The salary offered is $70,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Accompanying disabled persons during daily activities and delivering person-centred care to persons with diverse physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities.
Providing two-on-one or one-on-one care for participants with high-risk behaviours and health conditions, ensuring safety, dignity, and compliance with individualised support plans.
Collaborating with allied health professionals, coordinators, and family members to implement and review tailored care plans aligned with NDIS goals.
Building strong therapeutic relationships, fostering trust, emotional wellbeing, and increased participant independence.
Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility and manual handling, meal preparation, social activities and community access, and medication support.
Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reports in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies.
Participating in ongoing professional development, including training in behaviour support, manual handling, infection control, and safeguarding.
Promoting participant choice, inclusion, and community engagement while upholding duty of care and risk management principles.
Assisting with household tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning.
Assisting with personal hygiene and dressing.

Pay: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour
