Casual/Part-Time Dental Receptionist/Assistant (Reception-Focused with some Chair-Side Duties)
Location: Tullamarine, VIC 3043
Days: Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays as required (flexible roster)
Pay: $28–$38 per hour (based on experience and skills)

Mickleham Dental is seeking a motivated and professional Dental Receptionist to become part of our growing team. This role is primarily focused on front office and patient coordination, with occasional sterilisation and chairside dental assisting duties to support the clinical team when required.

Mickleham Dental is a growing, patient-centred practice located in Tullamarine. We provide a full range of dental services, including implants, same-day CEREC crowns, cosmetic dentistry, and preventative care, using modern technology and Exact dental software.

Your Role Will Include
Front Office & Patient Care
- Greeting patients with warmth, professionalism, and exceptional customer service
- Managing appointment bookings, recalls, and treatment scheduling
- Answering incoming phone calls and responding to patient enquiries
- Confirming appointments and managing daily schedules
- Processing payments via HICAPS, EFTPOS, and other payment platforms
- Managing patient records and maintaining accurate data entry
- Assisting patients with treatment plans, financial arrangements, and general practice information
- Liaising with dentists, specialists, laboratories, and other healthcare providers
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice
Sterilisation & Clinical Support (When Required)
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising instruments in accordance with current infection control standards
- Maintaining sterilisation records and assisting with compliance requirements
- Preparing and restocking treatment rooms
- Assisting with instrument processing and stock management
- Providing chairside assistance during dental procedures when required
- Supporting clinicians with room set-up and patient preparation
- Assisting with room turnaround between patients while maintaining high clinical standards
Administrative Duties
- Managing emails and correspondence
- Processing referrals and patient paperwork
- Handling Medicare, health fund, and DVA claims
- Maintaining reception and waiting areas to a high standard
- Assisting with stock ordering and general administration when required
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1–2 years of dental reception experience preferred
- Experience using Exact dental software highly regarded
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting preferred
- Knowledge of EXACT Software
- Previous sterilisation or chairside dental assisting experience highly regarded
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Professional presentation and phone manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for patient care
