Diploma Qualified Room Leader
First Friends in Mindarie are now looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Room Leader to join our friendly team. The Room Leader will support the educators in the room providing high quality education and care
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support educators within the room.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Ensure room operations run smoothly.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging educational programs based on children's interests and developmental needs.
- Support children's learning using approved early learning frameworks.
- Observe, document, and assess children's progress and development.
- Promote inclusive practices and support children with diverse needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and supervision requirements.
- Ensure child protection and safeguarding policies are followed at all times
- Respond appropriately to incidents and accidents
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's development and wellbeing.
- Support family participation in centre activities and events.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or recognised equivalent).
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Management certificates.
- Sound knowledge of early childhood development and learning frameworks.
- Understanding of child protection responsibilities.
- Strong communication, and organisational skills.
- Full working rights in Australia
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as a Room Leader or senior educator.
- Experience mentoring and supporting educator teams.

Pay: $31.50 – $34.70 per hour
