Tell me about this role:
Seeking multiple security cleared (NV1 or higher) Maritime Engineers (Systems or Mechanical) to join our team on a permanent basis. These roles will be involved in Naval sustainment projects.
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the engineering assurance, sustainment and ongoing operational availability of critical Defence maritime systems. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to systems engineering activities across the capability lifecycle, including requirements development, engineering change, verification and validation, technical investigations, risk management and configuration control.

You'll support engineering governance and assurance activities while helping to maintain system integrity, seaworthiness and sustainment outcomes across a dynamic Defence environment.
We’re looking for Maritime Systems Engineers & Maritime Platform & Auxiliary Engineers.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Support systems engineering activities across sustainment, engineering change and capability assurance programs.
- Assist with the development, review and management of system requirements, specifications and verification requirements.
- Contribute to engineering design reviews and assess technical documentation, drawings and specifications.
- Support verification and validation activities, including testing, evaluation and evidence collection.
- Conduct technical investigations, engineering analysis and problem-solving activities to support informed engineering decisions.
- Support system safety engineering activities, compliance assessments and certification requirements.
- Contribute to configuration management processes to maintain system baselines.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation and sustainment artefacts.
- Collaborate with engineers, logistics specialists, project teams and Defence stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
What sort of skills do I need?
- Relevant Degree Engineering qualifications in Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or a related discipline.
- Experience working in systems engineering, sustainment, asset management or a related engineering discipline.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of Defence Maritime engineering change management, configuration management and technical governance processes.
- Demonstrated experience within Defence, maritime or complex sustainment environment.
- Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), system safety, certification, test and evaluation, or Defence engineering standards would be advantageous.
- Australian Citizenship and NV1 security clearance.
