Barwon Learning Centre is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and innovative teacher to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by delivering high-quality educational programs in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The program currently has 21 enrolled students, with 7 students permanently placed at Barwon. Currently, all enrolled students identify as Aboriginal. As a teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences that meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Evidence-based teaching practices to support student achievement, foster positive learning relationships, and create a safe and respectful classroom culture. Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies, you will contribute to the development of personalised learning pathways and wellbeing initiatives that promote successful student outcomes.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and a commitment to continuous professional learning. You will be able to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and adapt your teaching practice to meet individual learning needs. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centred learning is essential.

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with behavioural difficulties.
Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs that meet the diverse academic, behavioural, social, and emotional needs of students from a range of backgrounds.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive, respectful, and productive relationships with students, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement, wellbeing, and achievement.
Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and evidence-based teaching practices, with the ability to use student data to inform planning, monitor progress, and improve learning outcomes.
Demonstrated expertise in implementing effective classroom management strategies and positive behaviour support practices to engage students with complex learning and wellbeing needs.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
