We are seeking an experienced, capable and fun baker to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and large scale baking, confidence to bake large quantites of cakes and desserts autonomously and create frostings in bulk.

About Us:
Mad About Cakes is a boutique bakery specializing in dietary requirement custom cakes and desserts for weddings, private and corporate events. Everything we create is hand- made and custom designed with each clients’ unique style and event theme in mind. We are looking for an energetic, passionate and experienced baker to join our team.
They will be working with the owner 1 on 1 in a commercial kitchen and studio space baking alongside other team members.
A strong knowledge of baking is required along with experience of working in a commercial kitchen/setting.
Applicants are expected to work during standard business hours (or as required according to work flow) contribute to kitchen cleaning and maintenance, handle the pressure of large workloads and short turn- around times, be a team player and know how to have some fun!
Consumption of cakes, desserts and recipe testing is non-negotiable!
General working hours:
2-4 days per a week pending required work. Closer to 4 days during peak seasons.
Monday – Friday from 9 to 5pm (once trained, hours can be flexible) (16 – 32 per week).
Responsibilities and tasks:
· Baking cake mixes and doughs in bulk
· Creating frosting in bulk
· Dessert baking such as cookie rolling, cutting and baking.
· Preparing and making cake fillings such as custards and curds
· Operating baking machines and tools
· Checking and cleaning of all utensils, equipment and kitchen areas before productions
· Stock management, rotation and storage
· Quality checking of raw materials and ingredients
Minimum requirements:
· Experience in baking in a commerical kitchen/setting
· Fluent in English, positive attitude, works well with others, timely, clean and presentable
· Excited to learn and keen to share
· No existing injuries that will prevent applicant from standing for long periods or
· lifting heavy items (e.g. 15kg bag of chocolate, 8kg wedding cake)
