Position Brief -Plant Operator

About the role
We are seeking multiple experienced and safety-focused Plant Operators to join our civil construction and maintenance team. The role involves operating excavators and other heavy plant to deliver Council’s works program across a range of construction, earthworks, road, drainage and maintenance projects.
Responsibilities include:
Safely operate excavators and other heavy plant in accordance with licences, procedures and competency standards.
Undertake civil construction, earthworks, maintenance activities and manual labouring duties as required.
Transport and coordinate plant and equipment between work sites.
Identify hazards, report equipment issues and maintain plant in a safe and serviceable condition.
Complete pre-starts, risk assessments, equipment logs and incident reports.
Work effectively with Council staff, contractors and project stakeholders.
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, productivity and customer service.
Participate in Toolbox meetings, training and multi-skilling activities.
We’re looking for people who have:
Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or relevant experience.
Excavator LE competency/licence.
HR Heavy Rigid Driver Licence.
General Construction Induction (White Card)
Reliable, strong team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Committed to safe, high-quality work and willing to assist with general civil construction and labouring duties.
