Summary
Our client Mallala Family Medical Practice is seeking to add an Enrolled Nurse to support the delivery of high-quality primary healthcare services to patients across the Adelaide Plains region. As a community-focused medical practice, the clinic provides general practitioner consultations, preventative healthcare, chronic disease management and ongoing patient care. This role will contribute to patient-centred healthcare delivery through clinical support, treatment coordination, health education and professional nursing care.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assess patient health needs and assist with implementing nursing care plans.
- Provide nursing care in accordance with accepted clinical standards and procedures.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment plans.
- Assist General Practitioners during consultations, procedures and patient assessments.
- Record and maintain accurate patient information and clinical documentation.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising healthcare professionals.
- Support chronic disease management and preventative healthcare programs.
- Perform wound care, dressings and other approved clinical procedures.
- Coordinate patient appointments, recalls and follow-up healthcare activities.
- Promote health education and preventative health initiatives within the community.
- Assist with infection control and workplace health and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Maintain clinical equipment, treatment rooms and medical supplies.
- Provide compassionate and professional support to patients and families.
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Diploma of Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification, with current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Minimum 12 months of recent experience as an Enrolled Nurse within a healthcare, aged care or community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with professional standards and guidelines.
- Experience administering medications, monitoring patient outcomes and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Sound understanding of infection control procedures, patient confidentiality requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
- Ability to effectively support chronic disease management, preventative healthcare programs and ongoing patient care initiatives.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy clinical environment.
