Role Purpose
DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager / Project Director to lead the successful delivery of large, complex airport technology and transformation programs. The role owns the program from mobilisation through delivery and into operations, taking end-to-end responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, commercial performance and client satisfaction.
Operating at the interface between the client's executive team and the delivery organisation, the Senior Program Manager / Project Director sets the program vision and governance, leads multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor teams, and ensures that integrated solutions are delivered safely and reliably into a 24/7 operational airport environment. The role is as much about leadership, stakeholder confidence and commercial stewardship as it is about delivery discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of the airport program - accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, benefits and outcomes.
Establish and run program governance: steering committees, design and change authorities, reporting cadence and decision-making forums.
Define the program plan, integrated master schedule, milestones and critical path across all workstreams.
Set delivery standards, methods and assurance, applying recognised program/project frameworks (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2, MSP, agile/hybrid).
Own the programme P&L; manage budget, forecasting, revenue recognition, margin and cost control.
Manage the contract and commercial relationship, including scope, change control, claims and supplier/sub-contractor agreements.
Identify and pursue growth and value-add opportunities within the account, supporting bids and proposals.
Drive delivery across multiple workstreams - applications, integration, infrastructure, networks, security, testing, transition and operations.
Own the programme risk, issue and dependency management, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation.
Assure technical and operational readiness, including operational readiness, trials, cutover and go-live for terminal openings, expansions or system replacements.
Ensure safety, security, regulatory and compliance obligations are met throughout delivery in a critical-infrastructure environment.
Act as the senior point of contact and trusted advisor to airport executives, operations leadership, airlines, regulators and partners.
Lead, motivate and develop a large, multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor delivery organisation, building a high-performing culture.
Manage the partner and supplier ecosystem, aligning third parties to programme objectives and standards.
Communicate progress, risk and value clearly to all levels, from working teams to board.
Skills & Experience
Program delivery: Extensive experience directing large, complex, multi-year technology programmes (typically multi-million budgets and large teams), with a strong track record of delivery to time, cost and quality.
Sector experience: Demonstrable delivery in aviation, airports or comparable critical infrastructure / transport environments operating 24/7.
Commercial acumen: Proven P&L ownership, contract and commercial management, including change, claims and multi-supplier arrangements.
Governance & method: Deep command of program/project governance and methodologies (PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, agile/hybrid) and assurance practices.
Risk leadership: Strong risk, issue and dependency management on high-stakes programmes, with sound judgement under pressure.
Leadership: Outstanding leadership of large multi-disciplinary, multi-vendor teams, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing organisations.
Stakeholder management: Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills; credible with C-suite and operational stakeholders alike.
Knowledge of airport operational and passenger systems and the airport IT/OT landscape.
Experience of terminal openings, expansions, greenfield airport programmes and transition into operations.
Familiarity with Master Systems Integration (MSI) operating models and service transition.
Program/portfolio certifications (e.g. PgMP, MSP Practitioner) and/or agile scaling experience (SAFe).
Exposure to safety- and security-regulated environments and relevant aviation standards.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Relevant programme/project management certification strongly preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, PgMP or equivalent).
