Lead Installer / Experienced Tradesperson – Timber Flooring
Insight Flooring is seeking an experienced Lead Installer or highly skilled tradesperson to join our timber flooring team.
Full-time position. Immediate start available. Above-award pay based on experience, capability and role expectations.
We work on residential projects, mainly in Sydney’s north, including the North Shore and Northern Beaches to Palm Beach, as well as the Eastern Suburbs. We specialise in solid hardwood flooring, parquetry, engineered timber flooring, custom staircase work and site finishing.
This role is suited to an experienced timber flooring installer, carpenter, joiner or tradesperson with strong site skills, good attention to detail and the ability to produce a high standard of finished work.
Flooring-specific experience is highly regarded, but we are also open to experienced carpenters and joiners who understand precision, set-out, cutting, fixing and the level of care required on detailed residential projects.
Experience we are looking for:
- Solid hardwood flooring installation
- Parquetry installation
- Engineered timber flooring installation
- Subfloor preparation and levelling knowledge
- Detailed residential site experience
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
- Ability to set out work accurately and think ahead
- Strong finishing standards and problem-solving ability
- Confidence communicating clearly with clients, builders, supervisors and the team
- Floor sanding experience would be favourable, but is not a prerequisite
- Experience with custom timber stair installation
Technology and documentation:
- You must be familiar with reading and understanding architectural drawings and be comfortable using technology to receive, interpret and communicate project information. Physical documents can also be provided if that is your preferred way of working on site, but our preference is for electronic interpretation and communication where practical.
Please note:
- Experience limited to floating floors, laminate, hybrid or vinyl will not be enough for this role. Our work is specialist timber flooring, site preparation, detailed installation (glue fixed) and custom staircase work.
You will need:
- Proven trade experience
- White Card
- Current driver licence
- Reliable transport to sites across Sydney
- Own vehicle and tools are desirable
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia
- Good communication and reliability
- Ability to work independently and lead on site when required

Pay: $64,750.50 – $120,005.78 per year
