Within the VIC market, JLL deliver Valuations and Advisory services across a premier client base incorporating residential, commercial, retail and industrial valuation teams. The Melbourne team prides itself in having a strong client base across all segments of the market and is often sought out by our clients to undertake more complex valuation assignments.
Our Assistant Valuer role requires a provision of analytical skills, valuations and financial capability working within the Residential Development Valuations team.
What this job involves
As an Assistant Valuer within the Residential Development Valuations team in Melbourne, you will play a crucial role in maintaining JLL's position as the market leader for local and national Value and Risk Advisory consultancy services. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your valuation skills while working alongside experienced Directors in a dynamic and growing sector.
You will be encouraged to participate in specialised training and mentoring programs to support your progression towards CPV Valuer Accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
Train in fundamental valuation methodologies under supervision of experienced Certified Practising Valuers (CPV), assisting in delivering timely and accurate valuations for residential development projects while collaborating on complex assignments
Conduct financial and sensitivity analysis using Estate Master and industry-standard tools, compiling and verifying market evidence to support valuation reports that incorporate AI, ESG considerations, and emerging technology platforms
Engage professionally with JLL clients and stakeholders through regular communication, attending client functions and seminars, and actively promoting JLL services through marketing initiatives and collaboration with Sales teams
Utilize leading-edge technology including sales and rental databases, mobile computing platforms, and management information systems, adapting quickly to new applications as required by clients and projects
Manage workflows effectively to meet deadlines while demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development, working collaboratively within the team and developing independent problem-solving skills
What you'll bring to the role
Tertiary qualification in Property Valuation and current Graduate (GAPI) status with the Australian Property Institute
Current driver's license and ability to travel independently to property sites for inspections and client meetings
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Estate Master software, with proven analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with strong organizational and process-driven capabilities
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while learning and adapting to new applications quickly
Keen interest in the real estate market and a basic understanding of influences in this sector.
