About The Opportunity
Support the day-to-day operation of the Lakes Entrance transfer station, helping deliver efficient waste and recycling services to the community. The role focuses on assisting customers, managing waste streams, and maintaining a safe, clean and well-run site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in resource recovery, diverting from landfill
- Ensure bins are filled to ensure maximum capacity and sorted appropriately
- Control vehicles, inspect loads and direct customers to appropriate drop-off locations
- Collect customer cash and EFTPOS payments and record data using PIVOT system
- Ensure the site is regularly tidied and daily checklists are completed
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and Council policies.
In this position, you will work 7 days on, 7 days off, Sat - Sun 8:45-4:15, Mon - Fri 7:45-4:15.
The Lakes Entrance Transfer Station operates from 8am to 4pm on Weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Weekends. Sometimes there is scope for additional hours by agreement, as required by the organisation (eg: leave cover).
What we are looking for
- Experience operating a landfill, transfer station, or similar infrastructure
- Demonstrate positive, friendly attitude towards customers with ability to direct them appropriately
- Physically fit and able to manage workload and duties effectively
- Able to use iPad and EFTPOS devices to collect payments
