Shane's Trees is a forward thinking Arboriculture company operating for over 30 years in Sydney, expanding to to Brisbane and the Gold Coast in the last 18 months.
About the role
We are currently seeking a stump grinder operator. You will be motivated, reliable and willing to embrace new skill sets where required. Your interpersonal and customer relation skills must be of a high standard.
You will be involved in general labouring arborist duties including:
- Stump Grinding using Alpine, Humper, SG40 or RG100 Grinders
- Chainsaw Operation
- Truck Driving
- Towing a trailer
- Use of leaf blower
You will work across residential and commercial sites, playing a key role in completing our tree removal projects. Each day is different - some days you may be working alone and other days you will have support crew, depending on size of stump.
Would suit an Arborist who isn't climbing anymore or someone from a landscape construction, or horticulture background. We can train you in how to grind, you just need experience working outdoors with plants or gardens as a minimum.

Skills and experience
- Experience operating stump grinders or similar machinery
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to carry out basic equipment checks
- Knowledge of safe work practices and PPE use
- Physical fitness to handle outdoor, hands-on work
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team
- Attention to detail to ensure clean, thorough stump removal
- Experience in arboriculture, landscaping or grounds work
- Current driver’s licence
- White Card
- Experience towing / reversing a trailer
- MR or HR licence desirable
