Maxx Music is looking for enthusiastic Violin, Drum, and Piano Teachers to join our growing team. We have immediate, existing shifts available, as well as new shifts opening up to meet high demand. With over 1,300 students attending lessons across our two schools each week and new students enrolling daily, this is a stable, rewarding opportunity to share your craft.
This position is ideal for university students looking for regular part-time work that fits around their studies, or experienced musicians looking for a consistent income to supplement their gigging schedule.
> No prior teaching experience? No problem! We provide dedicated mentoring for talented musicians who are new to teaching.
What You Will Do
- Deliver high-quality, individual music lessons tailored to each student.
- Guide students in developing their technique, musicality, performance skills, and confidence.
- Prepare interested students for formal examinations, including AMEB and Rockschool.
- Foster a fun, encouraging environment that inspires a lifelong love of music.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
Qualifications & Experience:
- For Piano & Violin: Minimum Grade 8 AMEB (or equivalent examining body). CMusA or AMusA qualifications are highly welcomed.
- For Drums: Relevant performance experience and a strong technical foundation.
Skills & Core Attributes:
- Strong ability to engage and teach students in a positive, fun-loving, and patient manner.
- Clear, confident, and professional communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of Duty of Care.
- A confident, outgoing, and collaborative team player.
Availability & Logistics:
- Available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week during school terms. (Shifts can be built around your schedule but must remain consistent week-to-week).
- School Teaching Hours: Monday–Thursday 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Ability to commute reliably to Castle Hill and/or Rouse Hill.
- Must possess or be willing to apply for a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Locations & Commuting
- Rouse Hill: Conveniently located just a short walk from the Metro and major bus stations.
- Castle Hill: Well-supported by local bus routes. It is roughly a 20-minute walk from the nearest Metro station, so holding a valid driver’s license/having a car is an advantage for this location.
Please note: Due to the requirement for long-term consistency for our students, this position is not suitable for applicants on a Working Holiday Visa.

Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour
