As the Global Quality Lead, you will head up Black Sky’s quality system management and quality engineering programs.
Oversee receiving inspection and in-process verification using world-class equipment and processes.
Support the verification and validation of complex products and processes
Act as the AS9100D specified management representative, responsible for sustaining and coordinating the quality framework across the organization.
Provide structured problem-solving, data analysis, improvement, and containment functions for complex products produced internally and externally.
Collaborate closely with supply chain, engineering teams, production, and business development to ensure rigorous adherence to customer and certification requirements.
Evolve quality practices to align with the company vision and advise the senior leadership team as necessary.
Accountable Areas
Enhance receiving and in-process inspection capability, efficiency, and speed.
Support research and development activities through inspection.
Improve quality engineering containment speed and problem-solving success.
Execute and resolve supplier quality processes and issues.
Own and improve the nonconformance system.
Manage the scope and overall calibration system.
Maintain and improve the quality system.
Ensure quality requirements are incorporated during contract reviews.
Foster interaction with other departments and functions.
Implement quality control best practices at all levels of product research, development, and production.
Other Responsibilities
Promote a quality-conscious culture through coaching and influencing the organization.
Hire, grow, and manage the Quality team.
Ensure team certifications and training are current and appropriate.
Uphold and embody the company's values.
Report performance measures and metrics as assigned.
Criteria - Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience.
5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or similarly regulated industries with specific experience in Quality.
Experience managing an AS9100D quality management system.
Experience in a hardware-focused organization.
Experience managing a registered quality management system.
Experience managing a structured calibration system.
Experience addressing customer flow-down requirements.
