CASS Care Ltd is a multi-disciplined community services provider, with "CASS", as our brand name, which is commonly known in the community. We are active in the provision of a comprehensive range of social welfare services, catering for needs from cradle to seniors, including residential aged care, home ageing, disability, settlement and health, employment and training, child care and many more community-based services. We are seeking an enthusiastic person with relevant skills to fill the above position.
Position Summary:
The Community Services Worker (Indonesian Speaking) will engage with and support the Indonesian community by identifying community needs and delivering appropriate programs, information sessions, activities and events. The role will also provide information and referral support to connect community members with appropriate services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with the Indonesian community through outreach and networking to identify community needs and inform the development of appropriate programs and activities;
- Plan, organise, coordinate and deliver information sessions, community programs and events in response to identified community needs;
- Provide culturally appropriate information and guidance on social welfare systems and community support, and connect community members with appropriate services when required;
- Coordinate and support the delivery of community and social group activities;
- Prepare and publish social media content to promote CASS services, programs and events;
- Prepare and adapt culturally and linguistically appropriate resources to improve understanding of available services and support;
- Coordinate volunteers as required and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery; and
- Maintain appropriate program and service records and contribute to relevant reporting requirements.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification recognised in Australia and relevant experience;
- Knowledge of social welfare systems, government and community services and networks;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and fluency in Indonesian;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills in English and Indonesian, including the ability to engage effectively with community members, including seniors;
- Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver community programs, information sessions, group activities and events;
- Proficient in using computers;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to explain information clearly;
- Strong organisational and time-management skills and ability to work independently and in a team, meet deadlines and fulfil program requirements;
- Ability to use social media to support community engagement and service promotion;
- Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one before employment;
- Valid National Police Certificate or ability to obtain one before employment; and
- Valid driver's licence and access to vehicle covered by comprehensive car insurance.
Desirable
- Relevant knowledge and experience in the community services sector;
- Experience coordinating community programs, events or group activities; and
- Experience working with Indonesian-speaking community members and/or culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including seniors.
Salary and employment conditions for the above position are as per the Enterprise Agreement. Salary packaging is available. Discounted childcare fees are available for CASS's long day care, before and after school, and vacation care services.
