Hospitality All-Rounder / Housekeeper (Casual)

We are a small family-run bed and breakfast in the heart of the Hunter Valley. For
more than 25 years we've welcomed guests from around Australia and the world,
taking pride in offering genuine country hospitality.
We're looking for someone dependable, adaptable and proactive to become an
important part of our small team.
About the role
Every day is a little different. Depending on guest bookings, your day may include:
- Cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms to a high standard
- Maintaining our shared guest spaces and communal areas
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and general housekeeping
- Assisting with breakfast service, clearing tables and washing dishes
- Cleaning and resetting the kitchen after breakfast service
- Answering guest enquiries and sharing local knowledge of the Hunter Valley
- Helping with general day-to-day tasks around the property
- Occasionally assisting with caring for our pets while we're away
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and takes pride in turning up when they're rostered
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys helping wherever needed
- Takes initiative without waiting to be asked
- Is organised, capable and works efficiently
- Is physically active and enjoys hands-on work
- Communicates confidently and professionally with guests
- Presents well and contributes to a warm, welcoming atmosphere
- Is trustworthy and able to work independently
- Is flexible and understands that every day can look a little different
- Is eager to learn and enjoys developing new skills
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is welcome, but not essential. We'd
much rather find someone with the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to
learn—we're happy to provide training.
This is a casual position averaging around 12–24 hours per week, although hours
will vary depending on guest bookings.
Like all hospitality businesses, there are busier periods and quieter times throughout
the year. We're looking for someone who understands this flexibility and enjoys being
part of a business where no two weeks are the same.
