Job Description
Honour Care is seeking a calm, patient, and reliable male Support Worker to support a NDIS participant in her 70s living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) on the South Port，Gold Coast, QLD.
The main focus of this role is to assist the client with domestic tasks and maintaining a safe and organised home environment. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, comfortable with household tasks, and able to assist with moving and organising household items when required.
Key Responsibilities
- General household cleaning and tidying
- Vacuuming, mopping and other routine domestic tasks
- Cleaning and organising different areas of the home
- Assisting with moving, carrying and reorganising household items
- Helping with boxes and other household belongings
- Light household maintenance and practical tasks where appropriate
- Removing clutter and helping maintain clear and safe access around the home
- Assisting the client with other reasonable domestic tasks as required
- Supporting the client respectfully while promoting choice, independence and dignity
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and respectful
- Physically capable of undertaking domestic duties
- Comfortable assisting with moving and organising household items
- Practical and willing to help with a variety of household tasks
- Patient and understanding when supporting a person with a progressive physical disability
- Able to follow instructions and respect the client's preferences
- Previous disability, aged care, cleaning, handyman or domestic assistance experience is highly regarded
Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Australian driver's licence
- Reliable transport
- Right to work in Australia
- Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role safely
Experience supporting someone with MND or another physical disability is desirable but not essential. Appropriate guidance will be provided regarding the client's individual support needs.
